Facial Cosmetic Surgery
Serving patients in Northern Virginia, Maryland, & Washington, D.C.
For those who are dissatisfied with their facial aesthetics or disappointed in how the aging process has affected their face, facial cosmetic surgery is a solution worthwhile of consideration.
“Thank you so much for the great job that you did on my face. You are great and thanks again for the wonderful job!” (by S.S.)
What Facial Surgery Can Do
For years, Dr. Daria Hamrah has boosted the self-confidence of his patients by turning back the clock and providing patients with a rejuvenated, more youthful appearance.
While facial cosmetic surgery cannot halt the aging process, the procedures involved can achieve realistic cosmetic goals such as:
- Lifting loose or sagging skin through a facelift.
- Reshaping the nose tip, decreasing or increasing nose size, adjusting nostril shape or altering the nose bridge through rhinoplasty.
- Endoscopic brow lifts to correct drooping eyebrows, address a receding hairline, or eliminate undesirable forehead creases
- Removing unwanted, sagging skin in the neck region through a neck lift.
- Extract fat tissue below the eyelids, lift droopy eyelids, eliminate wrinkles in the eyelid region, or correct baggy eyes through blepharoplasty
- Otoplasty or “ear pinning” is a procedure to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears
- Facial implants may improve and enhance facial contours; will provide a more harmonious balance to your face and features

Candidates for Facial Cosmetic Surgery
Each facial cosmetic surgery procedure has specific restrictions based upon age and health issues. Generally, a patient is a candidate for facial cosmetic surgery as long as he/she is in good mental and physical health, has aged to the point that muscle development in the area is complete, has realistic goals and expectations, and a desire to improve facial aesthetics.
Risks and Complications
The risks and complications associated with facial cosmetic surgery are dependent upon each procedure and the individual patient. However, there are general risks associated with facial cosmetic surgery including:
- A reaction to anesthesia
- While Dr. Hamrah’s incision lines are discreet, undesirable scarring remains a possibility
- Bleeding and infection following surgery
- Nerve damage that can result in temporary or permanent numbness or paralysis in the region
- Dissatisfaction with the final result
Inherent risks with your desired surgery and any questions you may have will be discussed during your initial consultation with Dr. Hamrah.

Why Dr. Hamrah?
The above complications are typically avoided when in the hands of a skilled and qualified cosmetic surgeon. Dr. Hamrah has extensive experience and qualifications, including a one-year accredited fellowship devoted entirely to cosmetic surgery of the face, along with a unique philosophy of cosmetic surgery.
Since Dr. Hamrah has seven years of oral and maxillofacial surgery experience, his approach to facial cosmetic surgery is unique: rather than looking just at the aesthetics, Dr. Hamrah has an “inside out” approach, where he examines the bone structure, as well as any visible sagging, asymmetry, or wrinkles. Being an artist, Dr. Hamrah has the necessary “eye” for aesthetics and settles for nothing less than perfection.
He views facial plastic surgery much like making up a bed nicely: if the mattress is lumpy, there’s no point in spreading a nice bedcover over it (in other words, if the bones are problematic, fixing the skin won’t be an adequate solution).
